LUMINA LIGHT FESTIVAL

LUMINA Light Festival is back for its 8th edition, once again transforming Cascais into Portugal’s ultimate light-filled destination.
For three magical nights, 12th, 13th and 14th of September, the city’s streets, gardens, and iconic landmarks will come alive with stunning light art, immersive experiences, video mapping and live performances.
Free and open to all, LUMINA invites families, locals, and visitors to explore a unique journey of creativity and wonder.

Beyond its artistic impact, LUMINA reinforces Cascais’ cultural identity, positioning the city as a leading destination for creative tourism. With each edition, the festival continues to attract growing audiences, including both national and international visitors.

During 7th editions, OCUBO curated and produced LUMINA Light Festival.
Two million visitors, both national and international, visited the luminous city of Cascais and enjoyed more than 150 artistic light installations developed by 122 artists from more than 25 countries around the world.
The visitor was surprised by emotional and sensory experiences, such as contemplative and interactive projects, video mappings, and live performances.
LUMINA was considered by The Guardian to be one of the 10 best Light Festivals in Europe, awarded the best cultural event in 2014, was part of the Creative Europe Program,  and received the EFFE Label for "Remarkable Festival" from the EFA, European Festival Association.
